Fine, I agree with the quality player point,  Grant Hill and Abdur-Rahim are good players, but they don't play for the Clippers, which is what the trade issued concerned. I would gladly deal Mr Walker for Grant, but this topic was reflective of the Clippers. 

None of the Clipper players mentioned in the post are remotely in the class of Antoine, Grant or Shareef nor command the defensive respect these guys get. When was the last time Maurice Taylor struck fear into the heart of Karl Malone or Charles Oakley. My post was simply stating that we shouldn't waste the talent we have, by getting players who have proved nothing by means of success or ability. The C's haven't made the playoffs of late either, but at least show some progess with the lineup they produced towards the end of last season, I say if you can't get extra talent by free agency or sensible trade, develop the nucleus we have and see what it can do before you pass it up for guys who don't ever possess the same level of ability. I mean, Rogers is another McCarty, Skinner is an untried rookie who will get banged around in the post, Vaught has a dud back which may never recover, Taylor can make a few low post points but can't rebound and Wright has shown some heart and hustle(but we have this with DQ), so I still don't see the value of any of these guys.

I disagree strongly.  Just because a team doesn't make the playoffs, 
doesn't mean there aren't quality players on that club, which we see
with both the Celtics, the Clippers, the Pistons, the Grizzlies, etc.  
Is Abdur-Rahim a quality role-player?  He played on the Grizzlies, a 
lottery team after all.  How about Grant Hill?  He was
with Detroit another perrenial lottery contender.  Nope, guys like
Olowokandi (as you noted), Taylor, Skinner (the next Theo Ratliff?),
Wright (when he's healthy), and Rogers can all be starters for the C's. 
The problem with the Clipps is they lack stability, veteran leadership, 
and their backcourt, general manager, and owner stinks.
