Don't put a cap on how much a player can make and leave things the way
they are but........

Why can't the owners have some sort of deal among themselves as to how
much a player should be paid?

For instance, Walker asks for $20 million a year. The owners agreed
not to pay any player more than $8 million a year. Walker doesn't sign
with his own team, but no other teams will sign him for over $8
million so he doesn't have a choice but to sign for $8 million with
some team or take the year off.
