Non-stop Karl
Having distanced
himself from a stated
desire to leave the
Jazz, Utah power
forward Karl Malone has
another challenge.
In To the Brink, a
book on the Jazz by a
Salt Lake City
journalist, Malone is
quoted about his
ultimate hunting
fantasy being one that
would involve a human
target.
"Get some guy, a
Vietnam vet, no family,
down on his luck,"
Malone is quoted in the
book. "Offer him
$500,000 and give him a
half-hour head start.
If he gets away, he can
keep the money. That
would be the ultimate."
Malone insists he
merely was describing
the plot to a
Jean-Claude Van Damme
movie.
"I do not want to
hunt human beings,"
Malone responded last
week. "I have morals. I
have pride."

NBA column appears
