FW: Stern's message about agents -Reply

Yes Ryan unfortunately I have thoughts on these meaty issues, but they
depress me far too much to jump in at this time. I mean, my belief is
they ought to set up a ring in some dome, sell tickets and pay per view,
proceeds to charity, (like United Way, the poor 12th man welfare fund,
or the Kenny Andersen auto insurance fund) and let them beat the living
crap out of each. Include the agents and make it a three way, because
we know damn well, 90% of the players would rather sell them down the
river than really have to deal with them anyway. I know Falk would
rather walk on the other side of the street than to deal with me right
now.

These folks must walk through the audience like a boxer, of course
hearing maybe for the first time what the average joe thinks of David
Stern's or Falk's mother wearing army boots.

And winner takes all, or at least their choice of %'s on the CBA.

I know this sounds so simplistic, but it reminds of the great solution a
bus driver I had used to have; if 2 guys (or girls) were fighting, he
would stop the bus we would all get off and let them get it out.
Barbaric maybe, effective every time, and there were fewer and fewer
times. In today's PC world we would of course be afraid of hurting
Patrick's feeling or getting David's suit dirty. From one fan out here
in the west; To Hell with them, they f#&@*%!+ up the game I love most,
and I just about can't stand it anymore. So if asked, I say kill the
lot of them, and start over.

For all who saw Jayson Williams on Letterman last night, a day late, he
was a scream, and he proved he was the unchallenged strongest man in the
league. Boy and howdy. God, if he was only 3 or 4 years younger, I
would say put the roll on this boy, because I would LOVE to see him
Celtic green.

Thanks Paul for the kind words and keep up the fight.

Sorry for the horribly unproductive drivel, and on with the show,
Greg

(I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused; EC)

Hail to the commish telling Hunter and the players that it is those
scumbag agents (IMO agent have ruined all sports) preventing any
settlement of the lockout/strike. I advised this list yesterday that
this whole situation is due to the greed of 10% of the players who are
directly involved with the Bird exemption and that they don't give a
rat's ass about the rest of the players. They are the ones that have
been the most outspoken and it now appears that those few players and
the agents have backed Hunter in to a corner, which he is not able to
get out of. <<<

I agree with Hart 100%. Unfortunately, the players who comprise the
aforementioned 10% are the most visible, the most popular, and--in
general--the most talented players in the NBA.

In short, they are the minority of players that (1) fans most identify
with,
and (2) the media glorifies. That gives those players a tremendous
amount of leverage over the interests of the other 90%.

Essentially, Falk and his evil brethren have created a Have / Have-not
"members' only club" amongst the players...first in contractual salary
scale, and now in the representation of their collective bargaining
interests. It's a bad situation.

Thoughts? (Cecil, Dorine, & Greg, I know you're out there!)
