Regarding the question of putting a hand in the face of an opponent... This tactic is illegal when the player being guarded does NOT have the ball (it risks injury since the player wouldn't be able to see a pass coming.) However, if the player has the ball, it is legal. (Annoying and probably unsportsmanlike in the true sense, but legal.) - tom
