Subject: Winston Bennet???

Has anyone heard why Winston Bennet quit??

I hope it is to take over for Tubby Smith at Kentucky. I thought he
was
going to get the job in the first place. Tubby plays his son too much

instead of soon to be superstar Myron Anthony and the sure shootin
Ryan
Hogan. The only freshman he plays is his son. They play to much of a
slow
down game. Wayne Turner isn't at his best in the half court offense
and neither is Jeff Shepard. Pitino would never have lost any of
those
home games and the first game against Arizona, the team wouldn't have
been
so flat. No one in the Bluegrass is happy with Tubby and I was hoping
that
Winston's resigning would be to take over the cats.

If anyone has heard any reasons for Winston leaving let me know.

Winston left the Celtics for "personal problems", apparrently he and
his wife are going through some problems. He NEVER had ANY chance of
coaching here at UK. He has no coaching experience except the last
few years as an assistant to R.P. Tubby was the first and only
candidate for the position here.
Secondly, Tubby Smith plays his son because he is the backup point
guard - a position Myron Anthony doesn't play. Other than the
starter, Wayner Turner, and a walk-on, Saul Smith is the only
point-guard on the team. I agree that Anthony will be a great player,
but in no way can play the backup point guard position as he is a 6-7
slasher.
They definitely do not play a slow down game here, either. They
simply do not have the talent that was here when Rick was here.
How can you say that Pitino wouldn't have lost those home games
and the Arizona game? That is ridiculous. I feel and most of the
bluegrass feels he has done a great job considering the team could
still have Antoine Walker and Ron Mercer. We have also lost McCarty,
Tony Delk, Mark Pope, Rodrick Rhodes, Anthony Epps, Jared Prickett,
and Derek Anderson, to professional basketball. There is not nearly
as much talent here this year and a 26-4 record, with an incredible
schedule is very impressive. How can you say that no one in the
bluegrass is happy with Tubby? Tubby will be loved here and coach
here for a long time, you can count on that. He is loved throughout
the state, by some more than Rick, and has a great recruiting class
for next season.

Go Cats, Go Celtics
