P. Jones at center?

I notice that Popeye Jones was listed as a center at NBA.com,
and I believe that he actually played there for Toronto.
Did he have any success at the position? He seems too short but
Jayson Williams is another undersized, rebounding center that has
had some success. Rodman comes to mind as another smaller player
who can defend centers when necessary. Could Popeye play that
role in Boston?

As for signing Geiger, under the current CBA (which of course
is not going to be the same CBA that he will be signed under),
it seems like it should be possible with the Celtics' cap room.
To offer him $7M/year over 7 years (which is what he is demanding)
would require $4.4M of cap room. Of course, I am guessing that
the Celtics would rather not be paying what will likely be their
fifth most talented starter $7M/year. But, decent centers are
few and far between.
