All but destroy? I don't think so. When Robinson retires, his team
will
have a bundle of cap room to go after a big time free agent.

Sorry to disagree with a fellow Stanford guy, Michael, but that isn't
true under the current cap rules -- since there aren't "slots" any more,
in all likelihood Robinson's retirement wouldn't mean a thing to the C's
because the other starters' salaries likely would put them at or over
the cap. Besides, no one knows what the cap is going to look like next
year.

There is absolutely no way I would trade Antoine for the Admiral.
Antoine for the San Antonio's other twin tower (whose name I dare not
repeat for fear of being kicked off the list), on the other hand....

I noticed, Roy, but I wouldn't read into it that Antoine was thinking
"uh oh -- competition" or something selfish like that (if that's what
you're suggesting). My guess is that Antoine was there to support one
of his best friends -- Nazr Mohammed -- and was disappointed that they
weren't going to be teammates again.

Incidentally, I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief when the Bulls passed on
Mohammed. I was worried that their drafting Nazr would have been the
first shot in an Antoine recruiting battle.

I hope the lockout is short. I hate to think about the kind of things
we'll be seeing on this list if there's no real basketball stuff to
discuss.
