RE: Monday tidbits

I heard Jackie McMullen the other night and she stated that players in the
first 2 years in the league could only be offered a maximum of $2.5M. Is
this correct ?

As simple arguments go;

George have you heard Stewart comment on his interest in staying with the
Kings? I have heard him on Sacreamento radio, and read the recent articles
about him in the Sac Bee. You are right in the gist of your take, in that
most would blindly follow the cash, but in his case, and a few others
recently the big riches were passed up for the best total package of local,
loyalty and happiness. Fox, Chapman, Robinson, Mario Elie, Stockton and
Schrempf have all passed up much bigger deals elsewhere to go with or stay
with a team or coach they wanted to play for. This list is short true, but
Stewart like most here are waiting for the Big deal at the end of the 3
year waiting period.

To just assume this is the mentality of Michael Stewart is plain wrong. He
may end playing somewhere for more, but given he has practically lived his
entire life in the area, and the Kings will have big cap space and can give
some good money, Don't bet on him leaving Sacramento.

I don't think you have had to had your brain frozen to enjoy and expect
some level of loyalty. If all degrees of loyalty are lost, then my hope
for the future of the Celtics is in serious trouble.

Shalom,
Greg
