FROM INFO BEAT
"Won" favorite number of newest Celtic Anderson
Kenny Anderson proved why he was such a hot commodity in this
week's flurry of NBA trades as the newly-acquired Celtic led
Boston to its first win in Seattle in more than seven years with
a 106-96 win over the SuperSonics. Anderson, who was picked up
from the Toronto Raptors in a seven-player deal Wednesday, scored
19 points on 7-of-15 shooting in his Boston debut and the Celtics
beat Seattle at home for the first time since Dec. 27, 1991. The
SuperSonics, who hold the league's best record at 40-13, lost for
only the fourth time this season at Key Arena. Vin Baker had 25
points and 10 rebounds and Gary Payton added 23 and 10 assists
for the SuperSonics, who lost for the first time in 11 games
against Eastern Conference opponents. Anderson reflected on all
the numbers talk for contract terms, dollar amounts, minutes
played and points scored flying around the league this week by
saying, "Numbers are fine, but we beat the best team in the NBA."
Also interesting that Gugliotta is now in the injured list.
Incidentally, so is Ron Seikally.
