Pressing vs Half-Court

Past couple game summaries seem to me that Rick Pitino is trying some half
court offense. Someone stated that McCarty is not effect in the set
offense. (sorry I can't remember who)
I have stated in the begining of the season, when Pitino came on
board, he will have to teach the team how to play half court offense along
with the frantic pressing defense he is known for. Example, see Seattle
Supersonics. Couple of seasons ago they were the dissappointment of the
league, getting knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. The season
they went into the finals, they beat Utah at their own half court game.

In order for the team to be effective, the team has to mix up its defensive
schemes. Chicago uses the trapping defense when it is most effective.
Pitino I think understood this and is teaching the team the half court
offense. I don't think the team is looking for the championship this season
but a good finish.

Awaiting for your two cents worth of comments.
