The future of the NBA

If you want to see the future of the NBA if the players and the agents
have their way, check out this CNN article about the Twins cutting
payroll. They have no chance to compete and want to hang on for two
years until they can get to the new rules that are supposedly going to
create competition.

The NBA has such a diluted talent pool that Jordan and Pippin and some
role players can dominate (with help for the officials) the NBA. When
are the players going to realize what a good life they have and get
their heads out of their rear ends. Unfortunately, they see it as an
ego dissing instead of a business.

I hope Patrick Ewing never plays another game. I used to feel like I
would want to see him win a championship. But now, I hope it never
happens. He and his ego can go on vacation somewhere together where he
won't be insulted by a mere 52% of $2 Billion offer. Course we know
that Patrick is really only concerned about Ty Corbin and the like, not
himself of his dear agent Falk. Or maybe he wants to tank the season to
spite his old mate Oakley.

I did think one comment by an old school agent was telling. He
mentioned that Gus Johnson sat out a year and was never the same. Shawn
Kemp has already gotten on the Stanley Roberts fitness program. (He may
be moving to the NFL. Wants to be like Dion and play two sports, cept
he wants to replace Reggie White in Green Bay.) I wonder how many
players careers will be ruined by not playing this year.

If anyone is interested add your list. My includes the following who
will never be the same or will never play again:

Rex Chapman
Dan Marleje (sp?)
Shawn Kemp
Patrick Ewing
Muggsy Bogues
Karl Malone (over the hill if he doesn't play this year)
Will Perdue
Eddie Johnson
Ty Corbin
Anthony Mason
Charles Oakley
Scottie Pippin
Almost any player over the age of 30

If I was Oakley and Bogues, I would sue Tellum and Falk for interference
with my contract rights. Especially with Tellum and Falk talking about
a new league. What crap.

Maybe the players who are losing will get to have a private ballot. I
believe it would pass. So, my prayer on this Christmas day is that the
players come back from OZ with a brain and get a deal cut. Before their
nose spites their faces. And Kemp is jailed for non-payment of child
support!
