From Peter May's globe article

              From Peter May's globe article...
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Speaking of Mercer, he has dumped
David Falk and signed on with Master P, the rapper and
former college
hoopster who otherwise goes by the name of Percy Miller.
''My main thing
is that I like to have a closeknit relationship with the
guy that I deal with,''
Mercer said. ''I want to be able to talk to him three or
four times a week. I
couldn't do that with [Falk].'' He said he met Master P
while working out in
Los Angeles and liked what he heard. He said he and former
Kentucky
teammate Derek Anderson signed with the man the same day.

I like Mercer more every day!

also from May's article, talking about Ed Pinckney..

But Easy Ed also says his professional ID is strictly
Boston, even though he also
toiled for the Suns, Kings, Bucks, Raptors, and Heat. He
spent 5 1/2
seasons with the Celtics, arriving with Joe Kleine in
February 1989 and
leaving in June 1994 in a draft day deal for Derek Strong
and Blue
Edwards. ''For my family and myself, it was the best,'' he
said of Boston.
''The atmosphere in Boston, sportswise, is difficult to
simulate anywhere
                  else.

I always loved Pinckneys hustle and attitude, but his offensive game was
horrible. Somewhere back in his developing days, he got into a very bad
habit of shooting on the way down, which negated his strength and jumping
ability. Bad habits are hard to break!
