Bulpett Highly Critical Of Lari Ketner
Nice article by Steve Bulpett in today's Herald on Lari Ketner -- non
Web
available -- in which he criticizes Ketner, U-Mass' 6-10, 285-pound
center for failing to be all that he can be. He quotes a NBA scout as
saying, that they hardly talk about him, which is, according to the
scout:
"'... unbelieveable when you consider the size and talent this kid has.
The NBA is desperate for guys his size who can play, but I don't know
many people really want him like he is...'"
Bulpett goes on to mentions that Ketner can do all the things you like
to see in a pivot person: Play the low post; take up space; pass
decently;
very strong; a nice touch... But does he really have the drive and
desire
to exhibit these skills? That's a very big question in scout's minds.
It will be interesting, where he goes in the draft. It's not out of
the question that Il Duce will take a shot at him with the C's lottery
pick. Pitino's possessed of a mind-set that he can right all that is
wrong, and Ketner's coach is Bruiser Flint, one of Calipari's Homeys,
and the Ricktator loves to goad John Calipari.
