Profit Sharing

Can anyone explain the profit sharing %,  players wanting 60% owners 50% 
that is one of the bargaining points ?


 Is this similar to the music promotion business where the entertainers 
want a high guaranteed amount, plus a percentage of the profit ?  That is 
the reason I got out of this business, artists want a guarantee, even 
though the promoter/owner is not guaranteed they will draw squat putting 
all of the risk in the owner/promoters side which is definitely not a 
win-win situation as emphasized by the Steven Covey's and other business 
mgmt gurus.

Baseball seems to be possibly creating some problems for the future with 
these recent exorbitant high $ /long term signings in a few major markets. 
 Remember when Cincinnati, Minnesota, Oakland, & Pittsburgh were baseball 
powers ?
