Please explain. Support your assertion. From Russell's memoirs of his 
treatment by the media, and Antoine's current treatment my argument has 
at least marginal merit and I am willing to support it with excerpts and 
quotations.

True but both the journalists of both decades used identical tactics  in 
their efforts to uphold what they believe were the social mores of 
society. I'm saying the treatment, explicitly by the media, of imposing 
the image of what today is called a "punk" on players is analogous. 
Hardly the "apples and oranges" you describe.
