Billy Hunter: Bird Clause Not Part Of Negotiations

Here's the blurb from today's Boston Herald:	

"When officials for the NBA and its player's union meet tomorrow in New York, 
the Larry Bird exception won't be up for debate, the head of the union said.

"'That's for sure,' said Billy Hunter, executive director of the National 
Basketball Players Association.  'There hasn't been the slightest change in our 
position on Bird.'

"The exception, which allows teams to re-sign players without regard to the 
salary cap, is the central issue in the month-long labor war between the league 
and it's players."
