Great posts

Rather than anger everyone by copying a whole lot of text, let me just
compliment all of the contributors to the recent thread on Antoine and
his place in the Celtics' tradition. It's clear that you're all true
fans and it's a pleasure exchanging points of view with you.

I don't think there's much I can add to what Mike Dynon, Patrick Goggin
and Greg Odegaard have already said. Antoine Walker is a tremendous
talent who has a lot to learn before he can become a truly great player.
His "antics" can be a bit tiresome (at least when the team is getting
blown out), but why penalize him for excessive celebration? This isn't
the NFL. He's 21. As Pitino said: he's 21. He'll learn. Let's give
him a chance. What's our alternative?

Thanks also to JoeHironaka for suggesting a more positive list than the
one we've been putting together:

<<Okay, finally getting to my point, what do you all think about
starting a list among us of unsung Celtics guys who gave us their
money's worth every night? I'm thinking of Ed Pinckney, Kermit
Washington, John Bagley, Greg Kite (we could use him when we nail Shaq
in 2000) and maybe Jerry "Rhymes with Bee Sting" Sichting.>>

Kermit and E-Z Ed would make my list too. I'd also add Paul Silas,
Scott Wedman and Bruce Bowen. And despite my dishonorable mention for
the entire '96-'97 team, I'd have to include Rick Fox and David Wesley.

Can we have a separate category for memorable one-game performances by
an unsung performer? I'd include Kite for Game 3 vs. LA in '87,
Glenn McDonald for Game 5 vs. Phoenix in '76, Derek Smith for Game 2
against the Pacers in '91, Lorenzo Williams against LA in the '93
regular season and Conner Henry for dunking in Barkley's face in the '87
regular season.
