Knicks trade four to Celtics for Chris Mills
BOSTON - The New York Knicks Wednesday traded four players to the Boston
Celtics for Chris Mills. New York dealt second-year forwards Walter McCarty
and Dontae' Jones, rookie John Thomas and veteran Scott Brooks to the
Celtics. The Knicks also received two second-round draft picks. The trade
was surprising on both sides but especially so for the Celtics, who signed
Mills just two months ago to a seven-year, $33.6 million contract after he
left the Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent. McCarty will be the third
member of the Celtics' current roster - the others are Antoine Walker and
Ron Mercer - to have played for Pitino at Kentucky.
