What to do now

I'm as disappointed as anyone with our failure to get the number ! pick since
I grew up rooting for Celtic teams led by outstanding centers like Russ & the
Redhead. However, if you look around today's NBA you see Chicago, Utah, &
Seattle playing some pretty good ball without legit centers.

So it's time to change gears - hopefully Philly doesn't take Battie and we
can land him plus another excellent player and strive for a balanced lineup
led by Walker .
If Philly grabs Battie, no one knows better than Pitino if Mercer's the man.

Then again, maybe the Spurs would go 2 for 1 depending on who we can get with
those picks or maybe if we agreed to take Charles Smith off their hands as
part of the deal. That would leave us with another high salaried stiff eating
up whatever cap room we do have but these big salaries do eventually end.

Let's hope we do the right thing!
