Bird the fly in the ointment?

Back sports page of the Boston Herald reads: "Bird Stuffs C's" "Puts off
Gaston offer for control." According to this article "Celtics owner Paul
Gaston offered Larry Bird the head coaching job and the top basketball
operations post roughly seven weeks ago, but cannot get an answer from him,
a team source told the Herald last night." Is Bird  using Boston to up the
anty in Indiana or is he using Indiana to up the anty in Boston. Whatever,
if this story is true he could screw up whatever is going on behind the
scenes. The article points out he is  bogging down the selection process
because Gaston is sitting pat waiting for Bird. The worst case senerio is we
lose Bird, Pitino, and Brown (who sure as hell can't be happy being put on
the back burner). What would we be left with Bob Hill? The horror. This is
really starting to drain me.
