Pitino

Pitino is a great college coach, but he was not really a very good pro
coach. He tried to do the same thing with the Knicks that he did in
college - an up tempo game that used a full court press. The up tempo
part would be great for the Celtics and the NBA if the team can also
play defense, but a full court press just doesn't work in the NBA,
where the players are quicker and can dribble through the traps (just
like Arizona did in the NCAA champ game vs. Kentucky) or throw over the
top of the press easily and break the press for an easy two.

Why does anyone think that Pitino will be a good pro coach after
already failing once? His teams hardly ever have had to play half
court offense, and when they were forced to by Arizona, they did not
run it too well and lost the game.
