The Dallas pick could be used to trade for someone like Kerry
Kittles. With the trade that New Jersey made, Kittles is playing less and
less, but still lights it up when he is out there. He would be an
excellent backup for Minor until he develops completely. I do think that
New Jersey would take a trade involving the Dallas Pick, and Dana Barros.
Barros would be a decent backup for New Jersey, plus with New Jersey
already looking toward the draft, the idea of having two top 10 picks
would entice them enough to take this trade. This would not only give us a
young shooting guard, but it would also free us of a rather large salary.
How about this lineup for next year:
1. David Wesley Backup: ?
2. Greg Minor Backup: Kerry Kittles
3. Antoine Walker Backup: Rick Fox
4. Dino Radja Backup: Eric Williams
5. Tim Duncan Backup: Steve Hamer
I would have to say that this team would be able to at least win 35 games,
probably not enough to make the playoffs, but that's o.k. We could use the
98' draft and the 99' free agent market to boost this team even more. With
all of this occurring I would say that the Celtics would be contenders by
the year 2000.
