.6 Seconds

from www.hoops.com:

Why did the NBA compromise its integrity by not playing out the last six
tenths of a second? Jordan wanted to celebrate so they decided the Jazz
season should be over. This is unfair to the Jazz and a mockery to the
fans.

IT IS VERY UNLIKELY BUT WHAT IF......... It is perfectly conceivable in
light of recent NBA "LETTER OF THE LAW" rulings that UTAH could have
tied the game (And there were two possible ways to do this). It was only
a four point game with six-tenths of a second left in the game.

(1) First of all, UTAH could have conceivably got a three-point shot off
in that time and gotten fouled for a four point play.

(2) Secondly, and even more conceivable: DELAY OF GAME is a violation
that was put into the rule book so that a Team "A" could not hinder Team
"B"’s opportunity at transition scoring. THE RULE STATES, IN PERTINENT
PART: "A Team shall not prevent play from commencing at any time." THE
BULLS RUNNING ON THE COURT WAS A DELAY OF GAME. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

THE JAZZ stayed at their bench and the JAZZ players on the court were
ready to play. The BULLS bench cleared (Coaches and players). BULLS
could have and should have gotten called for a technical for that (They
used their DELAY OF GAME WARNING on the prior possession). IF UTAH gets
the DELAY OF GAME call and technical foul, then they could get a three
point shot off in 6/10 of a second.

What if they didn't play out the last seconds of the BOSTON/DETROIT
series where ISAIH THOMAS threw away the ball to LARRY BIRD and DJ got
the LAYUP (Chucks Note: Good point; however there was more than a second
remaining in that classic confrontation).

Jazz and Chicago played over one-hundred games this year.....why not
play out the last six-tenths?

Poor judgment on the NBA's part.
