What we gave up for Knight

Well, Travis Knight just signed on to be the next Celtics center.
Hopefully he will be a dominating man in the middle. We did give up a lot
of players for Knight, as we were forced to renounce our rights to ALL of
our free agents. These include:

Rick Fox (I would've liked to see him stay but oh well)
Marty Conlon (I liked this guy because of his hard work)
Frank Brickowski (Good... I don't know why we signed him before)
Todd Day (he would have been a nice keeper, but he would hog some cap room)
Nate Driggers (he played for the Celtics?)
Steve Hamer (he played for the Celtics?)
Michael Hawkins (who are these guys?)
Alton Lister (this about kills our center position: we only have Knight and
Pervis)
Brett Szabo (he's a good player like Conlon, but oh well)

Under NBA Rules, when a team renounces the rights to a player, it can't
re-sign him until 54 days after the season begins, which would be in
December. I'm not sure about the rest of the cap rules, but I guess we
don't have to worry about these guys for awhile if at all. You may see
Conlon and Szabo back in December though. I'm disappointed to see Fox go,
but he would have tied up more cap room than Dino probably. We have 4 high
priced players on our team: Dino, Dana, Dee, and Pervis. Dino may not be a
Celtic for much longer.

Look at our probable starting lineup for next year:

C - Travis Knight 23 years old
F - Antoine Walker 21 years old
F- Eric Williams 25 years old
G- Chauncey Billups 21 years old
G- Ron Mercer 21 years old

The average age for our probable starting lineup is 22.2 years old. So
much for experience in the NBA...
