        If anyone happened to be watching WBZ-TV (Boston) 11:00PM newscast 
last night, there was an amusing shot of Larry Bird sitting up in the Fleet 
Center seats, by himself, intently watching the C's in "action" (and not 
looking too happy about what he saw). Some poor young kid hesitantly 
strolls up the aisle to the end of the otherwise empty row, extends his 
program and says something (you can guess what) to Bird, who quickly fires 
the kid a side glance, shakes his head, & growls (this could be lip-read): 
"Not now." The body english actually said much more than that, and the 
luckless kid got the message immediately, rapidly turning away, head down, 
sheepish glum expression. No glory, no autograph.
