RE: Read it and weep.



I thought this was a pretty reasonable article, nothing to weep about. Told
it like it is. Actually, better than that. This article suggests that the
Celts actually have a plan, to wit: 

                        The NBA, in many ways, has never needed Boston more.
                        And it's clear that the Celtics have been angling for
                        Duncan for at least two years. When such high-profile
                        free agents as Dikembe Mutombo and O'Neal hit the
                        market, the Celtics basically passed.

                        "The Celtics are riding it out," an NBA scout said.
                        "They're waiting to see if they get Duncan and then will
                        build around him if they do."

Maybe this is why the Celts settled for signing Brick and Lister (although
doesn't exaplain the Barros contract).

The only sad thing about this is that too much is riding on one move. I
hope no-one is going to slit their wrists if we don't get Duncan in the
draft.
