Ewing

It is a curious thing how people are perceived, how they are, and how we
look at them. I never have liked the Knicks. I respected them back in
the 60 and 70's when they had Billy Cunningham, Walt Frazier, Bill
Bradley, Dave DeB(sp), Willis Reed, Phil Jackson, et al. Haven't had
much repect for trash talking street type guys. But when Mark wrote
this:

> As for the rest of the Knicks, I can't stand 'em!
>

it set me to thinking. The only time I ever saw the Celtics in the
Garden was the last home game against the Knicks. I was a guest of X
McDaniel and we were waiting outside the dressing room. As the Knicks
came out, several went into speak to X. I was surprised but the nicest
guys who came by were Patrick, John Starks and Anthony Mason. I really
expected all of those guys to be sociable. On the other hand, some of
their players who didn't project the bad boy attitude were down right
rude. So, I guess you never know.
