At risk of my monopolizing this listserv, here's an intersting comment 
from ESPN hoops columnist dave Aldridge on the Sprewell thing: "Since 
when is assault on a head
coach a "team matter?" If the league disciplines players who bump 
referees or spit on fans, or a coach who says something the league 
considers offensive, and is fining its players left and right because 
their shorts are too long, it damn well better do something about this."
Aldridge thinks the league should ban Sprewell for at least a year.
