If leaping ability were that important in basketball, Kenny "Sky" Walker
(and, doubtless, many others like him) would be in the Basketball Hall of
Fame. If it were present IN ADDITION to all the important basketball
qualities (passing, shooting, dribbling, court awareness/vision, quickness,
height, in no particular order), it would make for a great player. But the
absence of it does not preclude stardom (consider Bird, Magic, K. Malone,
Mullin, many old-timers, even Oakley, Laimbeer, Hornacek), and the
presence does not indicate greatness, or else those Olympic high jumpers
that can clear 8 feet would all be signed to multimillion-dollar contracts
by NBA teams.

On a different tack, does anyone feel that Sprewell might be extremely
available? :>>
Maybe we could use him, after Pitino introduces him to Leo Papile (and
maybe Nurse Ratched, too)? Heck, he has unreal hops, after all, doesn't he?
